The Most Beautiful Parks in London

London truly has so much to offer, with one of the huge benefits of visiting London being the exceptional amount of greenery. London is around 47% green, compared to Manchester with just 17%, making it the greenest city in Europe!

So, let’s tell you a bit about each of the most beautiful parks in London so you can escape the hustle and bustle of the city and unwind in peace.

Hyde Park

Hyde Park

First up we have Hyde Park, London’s most iconic park, which is over 350 acres! This is one of the Royal Parks and is packed full of things to see and do, from beautiful memorials and statues to rose gardens and live entertainment.

As well as enjoying the open space, you can go to see Kensington Palace which is just on the border of the park, or head in the other direction to see Buckingham Palace. You are also right by Kensington, so you can head for a fancy lunch whilst you are there, where you can also explore some of the most high-end luxury fashion and vintage engagement ring shops in the world.

You could also take picnic supplies with you! You can spend the whole day at Hyde Park, or if you want to explore other parks too, we’d recommend picking up Santander Cycles so you can see everything much quicker and also have time to see other areas of the city!

Regents Park

Regents Park

Next up we have Regents Park, found in the boroughs of Westminster and Camden. This stunning park combines huge open green spaces, tree-lined pathways, very formal gardens, play areas and so much more. Regents Park is also the home to London Zoo and Madame Tussauds is just the other side, so if you want to go and see these places, a lovely stroll around Regents Park in between might be just what you need.

There are also plenty of cafes within Regents Park itself, including a glass-wrapped cafe and bar, or you are only a short walk from Mayfair and Soho where you will find some of the best food and drink in London.

Regents Park is actually bigger than Hyde Park at a whopping 410 acres, so again, if you are limited on time but want to explore the park, hop on a Santander Cycle and when you’re done, drop it off at one of the three drop-off points around Regents Park, one located by the Zoo and one towards Madame Tussauds.

Victoria Park

Victoria Park

Another stunning park that is a must-see is Victoria Park, located in East London, which gets 9 million visitors every year! It is slightly smaller than Hyde Park and Regents Park, at 213 acres, there is still so much to see, including a lake, stunning canals that you can walk along, and beautiful flowerbeds.

The main reason you would want to visit here over Hyde Park or Regents Park is the Farmer’s Market they have every Sunday, featuring beautiful fresh produce. Although this isn’t the most affordable market, the quality is simply unparalleled. So, if you’re in London on a Sunday, definitely head over to Victoria Park.

Kyoto Garden

Kyoto Garden

Last but certainly not least, we have Kyoto Garden located in Holland Park in Kensington. This park is much smaller than the others at 54 acres, but it is so different from anything you can get anywhere else in London.

This park was created by a Japanese designer and embodies Japanese tranquility with colourful plants, shrubs, maple trees, and stunning water features, including tiered waterfalls. This is really an oasis in the city that is a must-see, especially as it is so central and breathtakingly beautiful.
